Conceived and developed over a 10-year period of training for a major pharmaceutical company, Rhetorica offers a unique preparation course for employees who will spend extended time in the United States. ‘Living In America’ is a 20 hour crash course in American English and Culture held in 5 sessions of 4 hours each, or in any other division of hours agreed to in advance.
The Rhetorica method of training consists of face to face training sessions with a native American English speaking trainer. Each session is held in the form of an actual business meeting in which the student is required to participate in spoken English, by discussing, analyzing, setting goals, and reaching practical business decisions.
The emphasis is on speaking and understanding spoken American English. Students are trained in the Dos and Dont’s of life in the US. Topics covered include: the differences between British and American English, the American system of weights and measurements (pounds, inches, Fahrenheit, etc.), an overview of American Government and Immigration, an introduction to the American Business Culture mentality, an overview of traffic laws and driving, an overview of legal differences between the USA and the EU / Switzerland and laws to be careful of, as well as optional topics of Baseball and American elections.
